2017 NYC Drone Film Festival Grand Prize Announced

With the third annual New York City Drone Film Festival set to take place in March, the Best of Show will be walking away with an amazing prize package thanks to event sponsors Freefly and RED. If you want a shot at this list of equipment you better act now — submission deadline is January 8!


NEW YORK, NY, Dec. 28, 2016 — The Best in Show winner at the 2017 New York City Drone Film Festival will receive $75,000 worth of camera and drone gear courtesy of festival sponsors and professional cinematography industry leaders Freefly and RED.

The deadline for submissions for the New York City Drone Film Festival, the world’s first and largest film festival dedicated to works filmed by drones, has been extended to January 8, 2017 to accommodate filmmakers who’d like a chance at winning this prize package.  To submit a film, visit www.nycdronefilmfestival.com

 

Awards will be presented in 13 categories, including narrative, landscape, extreme sports, still photography, and more. The festival will be held March 18-19, 2016 with the first day at NYU’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts and the second day hosted at The Liberty Science Center.

The NYC Drone Film Festival is the world’s first and largest event exclusively dedicated to celebrating the art of drone cinema.   1. Wow. That is some prize. $75,000 of drone and camera equipment. Have to say the drone films were absolutely fantastic last year.
