Autel Robotics & FoxFury Join Drone Donation Program

Last spring, the Starr County Sheriff’s Office made application to the National Public Safety Drone Donation Program (NPS-DDP)/Airborne Works for a Free Drone. NPS-DDP was founded by Airborne Works. Our partners at AUTEL Robotics a global drone manufacture and FoxFury lighting solutions a global public safety lighting solutions provider has teamed up with NPS-DDP to donate New Drones and UAV lighting kits to departments in need. Starr County Sheriff’s Office has been chosen by AUTEL Robotics to receive one of 9 Drone kits to be donated. The UAV will be donated in person to the department. They now have on staff a Licenced FAA 107 drone pilot to fly the drone. This UAV / UAS technology will help save lives and stream line deployment and provide fast realtime situational awareness for the Starr County Sheriff’s office. Being on the nation’s border this new tool is sure to help Starr County Sheriffs department
spot potential issues.

“The geographic fact that Starr County is a border county with Mexico, allows that we see our fair share of illegal immigration. Aside from our law enforcement assisting with border security, our law enforcement is also dispatched to located illegal immigrants who have lost hope, quit on their trek and have reached out to 911 emergency centers due to them being injured or lost.” Full Starr County drone request found here Autel Robotics and NPS-DDP understand In emergency situations, every second is deemed important. UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) and drone technology can provide lifesaving assistance to public safety departments/companies with emergency calls. Unfortunately, many public safety departments across the nation cannot afford to purchase UAV/drones, as the cost of the technology is very high and or not budgeted, this forces many to simply go without. Airborne Works hoped to alleviate this issue when establishing the National Public Safety Drone Donation Program (NPS-DDP) a first of its kind in the world, UAV/drone donation program whereby public safety departments may apply to receive a free UAV/drone at no cost to the department.

Starr County Sheriff’s Office has been chosen as one of nine recipients of a drone that have been generously donated to the NPS-DDP program by our partner supporter AUTEL Robotics . Further another partner supporter of NPS-DDP is FoxFury Lighting solutions they will also be donating an FAA approved lighting solution for the drone. This addition will allow for illumination for night operations. It will also provide a beacon for long range night visibility We welcome all media coverage of this most important program and to bring light to Autel Robotics and FoxFury lighting solutions generous donations to the nations public safety agencies. Our goal is to help “put eyes in the sky for every department in need” TM and educate the public about the importance of these tools.
